Halloween 2011

We had a great Halloween with our neighbors.  We trick or treated for an hour or so - more than enough houses for my kiddos - and had a great time!

Carly decided early in October that she wanted to be Ariel for Halloween.  I was okay with Ariel until I started checking out costumes.  After some discussions with her and a bit of good ol' fashion bribery from her Daddy, she decided Cinderella was the best choice. 

She was a beautiful Cinderella!  Carly had a haircut the day of her school Halloween party, so Miss Michelle styled her hair in the perfect Cinderella bun.  Too cute! 

Little Tyler dressed up as Tigger.  Despite the face below, he actually liked his costume!

We took the kids to the downtown Carrollton Halloween festivities.  It was a little underwhelming, but we did enjoy the beautiful day and walking along the square. 

Big Orange Pumpkin Patch in Celina

I remember going to "real" pumpkin patches in Arkansas - the ones with pumpkins growing on a vine.  The pumpkin patches nearest our house aren't "real", but I found this one about 35 minutes from our house.  It was so fun!  Thanks to the Fikar family for joining us and finally convincing my husband it would be worth the drive. 

To start, they had all kinds of animals to feed.  Goats, cows, etc. 

Then they had a little train to ride.  We crammed Abbi, Evan and Carly in one car. 

While we waited for the big kids to return, Tyler found a cute puppy dog. 

Oh how I love that face!!! 

Next, the hay ride.  It was long but wound through all the fields. 

Oh the irony.  Carly and I missed most of the pumpkin on a vine patch experience because she had to go potty while everyone else was walking through the vines.  Sigh.  Next year! 

It was a fun day and well worth the short drive.  I can't wait for next year!

State Fair 2011

We visited the State Fair of Texas two times this year.  I have no pictures from the first trip, but there are several below from our second trip.  We met the Fikar family at the fair and had a great day! 

Tyler liked the animals at the petting zoo.  I thought he would be more excited, but he did enjoy looking at them and trying to touch a few.

Little Hands on the Farm was fun again.  I was keeping up with Tyler, but I think Carly enjoyed it.

Carly rode the giant ferris wheel with Aunt Lynette and Abbi.  I rode it with Carly and our other friends the week before. 

We enjoyed a carousel ride too! 

I think Tyler liked it... but it's hard to tell sometimes.  This face below is typical Tyler stoic face. 

Finally Evan wanted to ride another ride, so Evan, Carly and Lynette rode the Monster Trucks.  Carly said it was too bumpy! 

After all this fun, Tyler was tired and took a good nap in the stroller.
