Tyler's First Birthday Party!

We celebrated Tyler's first birthday with a party at our house on Saturday.

Look at my cute little man!!
My Meemaw made the trip to Carrollton with my parents.  It was so special to have her here with us, and my kids really enjoyed spending time with her.

I couldn't resist the Tonka truck cake.  Too cute!

The girls helped him blow out the candle.
The main event:  the cupcake!  He devoured it and was a huge mess!

It was a fun first birthday party for my little monster!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

Tyler is 1!  How is this possible??  Happy birthday sweet boy!

John and I took the kids to the zoo to celebrate.  They both had a great time!

Carly wanted to ride the spinny thing on the carousel rather than a horse (er, animal).  I was so puzzled!  She normally loves to ride the animals.

Tyler wasn't a huge fan of the carousel.  He didn't cry, but he was reaching for me the entire time.  Hopefully he'll grow to love it as much as Carly does.

A few things I want to remember about Tyler at 1:

He is a skilled walker, and he loves to climb.
He likes to play with balls, and he likes to throw everything.
He has 3 teeth, though 2 more popped through 2 days after his birthday.
He will eat anything!  Fruit is definitely a favorite, as are green beans.
He sleeps great at home - 10 to 12 hours at night and 2 naps during the day.  He does not sleep well at school.
He says 2 words:  hi and uh-oh.
He can wave bye bye.
His big sister loves him to pieces and he adores her too.

Fun in Stuttgart

We spent a long weekend in Stuttgart to attend my Granddaddy's memorial service.  It was a wonderful time with family - remembering our wonderful Granddaddy and spending relaxed time with all the cousins for the first time in many years.  All the kids (9 great grandkids) played and played and played in the circle.  I don't have many pictures because I forgot my camera (POP - you need to check your camera because I took pictures with yours!), but I have a few from John's phone.
Tyler and Pop.

Silly string fun!  There are 5 great granddaughters, ages 4 through 7.  John bought silly string and they had a blast!

Tyler soaked up the attention from anyone willing to dish it out.

Arboretum

Labor Day was BEAUTIFUL, so we headed to the Arboretum with the Fikar and Scott families.  I took a bunch of pictures of both kids and was pleased with the results.
Check out his hair!  Hilarious!

We even got a good family shot!
Cute Brayden giggling with his daddy.
Abbi, Evan, and Carly had fun together - as always.

Swinging

Swinging:  another activity best enjoyed when the temperature is below 103 degrees.

John built this swingset for Carly's first birthday, and the kids really love it.
