Big Sister Carly will have a little . . .

Brother!
Baby Mayer Dos is a little boy! We had a sonogram on Thursday, and he looks great. We are super excited about our little boy. Carly was asking for a little sister, so we're convincing her that a little brother will still be fun. We have 5 months to convince her.
It is time to do some little boy shopping! Something tells me the pink things and dresses and skirts from Carly's first year won't work for our little man.

Easter

We enjoyed a fun, but busy, Easter morning in Marion!

We started the morning with Easter baskets. Carly was excited to see what the Easter bunny brought her. He somehow knew she needed new swimming pool toys. She was ready to go home and put on her "swim soup" to go swimming and use her new toys!

Showing off her new sunglasses.

After church, the girls hunted Easter eggs outside.
Her Easter nest is above, with the bed of pretty wildflowers.

Say "Cheese!"

Checking out the eggs. She was pretty excited about the candy. Three weeks later, we're still slowly working through the candy supply.

Alyssa and Julianna finding eggs!

Ooh, more eggs!

Once inside, Carly opened some more Easter presents from Grandma and Grandpa. These eggs had money in them! Quarters!!!

We had a great Easter with Grandma, Grandpa, and the Linton family!

Pre-Easter Fun in Marion

We headed to Marion for Easter with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Clark, Aunt Kathleen, Alyssa, and Julianna. It was a pretty weekend in Marion, so the girls had a great time outside.

We dyed Easter eggs outside on Saturday night.

The girls collected flowers for their Easter nest. The Easter bunny leaves eggs in the nest of pretty flowers. Carly had fun picking the wildflowers. We had to make sure she knew that she would not be allowed to pick any more flowers once we got back to Grandma's house.

The girls know exactly where Grandma and Grandpa keep the fun toys, like the red wagons.

Cutie Alyssa (6 1/2 years old)

Swinging is always a huge hit. Julianna (4 1/2 years old)

Even Carly can swing in the big girl swing!

Dallas Arboretum with the Clem Family

We took advantage of a beautiful Saturday a few weeks ago and visited the Arboretum. The tulips were gorgeous as usual.
Carly had a blast running around and playing.

Cutie Brody Clem and his parents joined us. He was trying to catch the water.

Uncle Joe

While we were in Little Rock, we were able to spend lots of time with great Uncle Joe (great great Uncle Joe to Carly). Aunt Ruth was in the hospital in Little Rock recovering from a hip fracture, so Uncle Joe was staying with my parents during that time. Carly had lots of fun with Uncle Joe. Though he's a bit old (93 years old), he hears exceptionally well, got around really well, and is in good health. He heard and understood most everything Carly said, so he was able to interact with her a whole lot. He rolled the ball back and forth to her, and she gave him a big kiss every morning.

These pictures are extra special to me because Uncle Joe passed away a week after we left Little Rock. He fell at his house in Heber Springs and bonked his head pretty bad, and unfortunately he didn't recover. I am super grateful for the time Carly and I spent with Uncle Joe that week in Little Rock!

Little Rock Zoo - March 2010

Nannie, Pop, Carly, and I went to the Little Rock Zoo one day. Carly enjoyed it, though she might have enjoyed this sucker more than the animals.

She enjoyed running around.

On the first trip to the zoo, we missed riding the carousel. The carousel operator had gone to lunch, so Pop, Carly and I returned to the zoo another day so Carly could ride the carousel.

The return trip was well worth it. She had a great time on the carousel!

"Spring Break" in Little Rock

Carly and I took a "spring break" trip to Little Rock right after March 15. We had a great week, relaxing with Nannie, Pop, and Uncle Joe.

Carly loves playing with our old doctor set.
