Happy Days Fall Festival

Carly's school hosted a Fall Carnival on Sunday. It was a lot of fun for kids and parents. They had face painting, games, a bounce house, a slide, and food.

Our little ladybug. I'll have to get John to crop this picture (not my area of expertise) so I can print and frame it.

Carly 'won' a lollipop. It was her first lollipop experience, to my knowledge. She of course loved it. "More, more".

The little kids finally had some fun in the bounce house.

And Carly and I had fun on the slide!!

Who was having more fun - Mom or Carly??

I sure do love her day care. The party was a lot of fun, but the best part was seeing Carly run to hug every single teacher. She loves every one of them!

Dallas Arboretum

I love the Dallas Arboretum. It's incredibly beautiful and peaceful out there - even with hundreds of kids running around!
Carly and I met up with the Clarks on Friday for a visit to the pumpkin patch at the Arboretum. I didn't get any great pictures of Carly. She had a great time, especially since Caroline was there, but I just didn't capture any smiles.

Lost in the pumpkins

Caroline Clark

We tried to get a picture of the girls together, but neither would sit still! This is the best shot I could get. Maybe Kim has a better one?

I kept trying to get a cute shot of Carly in the pumpkins, but, again, she wouldn't sit still. And she wouldn't look at me.

Caroline is so tall!

Carly loved the hay.

Kim's grandmother and Carly riding the horsie, er, deer.

The girls loved the waterfall.

Almost 15 months old!

Carly will be 15 months old on Sunday. I'll have new height and weight official stats to add to the tracker soon (see right sidebar, towards the bottom).

She learned to say "Touchdown" while we watched the TX - OU game. We bought her new UT duds last time we were in Austin.

I had to get a picture of the longhorn on her bottom!

She's trying to eat with a fork. It is a messy, messy process... but I'm sure it will be worth it. Right?

She knows that keys unlock doors. Unfortunately her key didn't fit, so she couldn't go "outside" (still a favorite word).
Those are mighty big shoes to fill Carly! She loves, loves, loves to walk around in shoes. She even tries to walk in John's big shoes! Her favorite shoes are my heels. They make such a lovely noise on the tile.
Reading tonight with Mom.

She also loves taking walks in her car. All you have to say is "Carly, do you want to ride?", and she runs to the garage door and starts beating on it. We've been walking around the block most nights since the weather has been wonderful!

In case you haven't seen it, I'm tracking Carly's words on the right sidebar. I update it every few weeks. I'm constantly amazed at what she says and what she understands. All perfectly normal for her age, but it is still amazing to me. She's growing up so fast!

State Fair 2008

We went to the Fair Sunday, and the Cowans joined us. The girls are still a little too young to enjoy the petting zoo and any rides, but we had fun anyway.

They did enjoy playing in the gravel.

Carly really liked the carousel!

Petting zoo wasn't a huge hit with Carly, but I enjoyed it as always. Carly didn't understand why she couldn't eat the animal feed. She thought we bought a snack for her!

Week with Nannie and Pop

(Again, pictures aren't in order)
Some pictures from Carly's week with her grandparents.

Eating ice.

Nannie took off one day, and they took her to the zoo. She apparently loved it!

Pop took her to see Pawpaw and Grandma Lorene and Aunt Madolyn. She also saw Aunt Kathy, but no pictures.

Check out that silly face. We stayed with Robert and Julie one night and watched the AR vs TX game together. Carly and Maddy with their competing game gear. Ha.
