Tyler - 9 months

Tyler is 9 months old!  He's a busy boy.  In the last month he has become a master crawler.  He is so fast!  It is hard to keep up with him.
He also learned to pull up on everything.  He is beginning to cruise, and he can hold his balance for a second or two when he lets go.

We may have a climber.  He crawled on top of Carly's lego box to get a better view out the window.  He is also learning how to go up the stairs.  A couple of days after he turned 9 months old, he climbed all the way up our stairs.  I was behind him the whole time, but gee whiz, slow down son!

He has recently started eating all finger foods.  We feed him what we're eating, most of the time.  The boy likes to eat.  I already worry about having enough food to keep my growing boy fed and happy!

Around 8 months and 1 week, he finally got his first tooth.  It seemed like that tooth was coming in forever.  So far he still only has one.

He is still pretty easy going, most of the time.  In the picture below, he couldn't fall asleep in his pack'n'play since the cousins were all playing in the room next door.  I plopped him in the chair next to John, and about 15 minutes later he was out!  He never budged - just sat there with his paci until he passed out.

A few other things to remember at 9 months:

He's a great sleeper.  He goes to bed easily, takes great naps (at home - not at school).
(UPDATE:  As of 9 months and 3 days, I'm not sure I can say he goes to bed easily.  Sigh.  He seems to be hitting the separation anxiety stage.)
He had tubes put in his ears at 8.5 months.  So far he seems to be doing well with them.
He loves, loves, loves the water.  He loves to splash in the tub and the swimming pool.
He says "mamamamamama" often and "dadadada", but I don't think he says those words with meaning just yet.
He loves to bang on things.  He pulls Carly's plastic tea set down, just to hear it all crash.  He loves to bang his cup on his high chair.  The boy just loves noise.
He can drink from a cup.

Stats at 9 months:

20 pounds, 14 ounces
27 3/4 inches long

I know I shouldn't compare him to Carly, but it sure is hard not to.  At this age, she was slightly smaller.  She was also cruising, walking with the walker, etc - just like Tyler.  He crawled later than she did, but he seems to have caught up with her in mobility.  She was waving, saying bye bye and uh-oh at 9 months, and he has not started doing any of that yet.  I am quite curious to see when Tyler will start walking considering he and Carly were doing some similar things at 9 months.  Time will tell!
