Carly's Texas grandparents came this weekend for a visit. Yesterday we did some swimming
Today we went to the Dallas Zoo. I was impressed! I haven't been to the Dallas Zoo in 7 1/2 years, and I had bad memories of it. The elephant and giraffe exhibits are still terrible (Little Rock Zoo has them beat in this area for sure), but the rest of the zoo was pretty nice. Lots of shade, which is key in June. We didn't visit the Children's Zoo this time, but we bought a membership and hope to go back soon. Well, in the fall when its not 100 degrees. Carly with her grandparents

Wow, a picture of Mom!
This big gorilla walked right up to the glass where we were standing. Carly wasn't as scared of him as I thought she would be, but she did keep a safe distance. When Carly walked around to the other side of the glass, the gorilla followed. Pretty funny.

We had fun seeing the animals, but the highlight of the trip for Carly was the carousel. Oh my goodness, this girl loves the carousel. We must find more carousels for her to ride. Grandma and Mommy rode with her this trip. She loved it!
I'm pretty happy our zoo membership came with 4 free carousel rides!

Love the mom pictures. As a new mom I completely understand just how rare those pictures can be! Also, summer tip for you...there is an INDOOR carousel at the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. Might be out of the way but at least it has A/C!!!
