Zoo

I took the kids to the zoo for a Saturday distraction.  It was a cool day, but we had fun visiting the main attractions at the zoo.

Snow! Lots of Snow!

On February 1, Dallas was hit with a nasty ice storm.  Carly, Tyler, and I were iced in for 3 full days.  For the first two days, John was stuck in Midland.

On Day 4, the weatherman predicted 1 to 3 inches of snow to top off the remaining ice.  Boy were they wrong!  We ended up with 6 inches of snow at our house! 

Carly had a blast in the snow!  She made snow angels, cakes, etc.  She ate the snow, ran in it, and just generally had a good time. 

Rice Cereal

Tyler tried rice cereal for the first time at 4.5 months.  We were snowed/iced in all week, so we decided it was a good time to try out cereal. 

We learned a lesson with Carly:  don't make the rice cereal too thin.  With that lesson in mind, I mixed up some thick cereal for Tyler to enjoy, and he did indeed seem to enjoy it!
