Playtime Pictures

Lots of pictures of playtime last week.

She loves her new table.
And she can pull up on it from sitting in my lap... and apparently she can pull up to her knees. Due to these tricks, we just lowered her crib mattress!

Some shots while trying to crawl.

I think she was ready for a nap this day! Those eyes look so tired.
Carly wasn't a big paci girl for the first 4 months or so. However, as soon as we gave up the swaddle habit, she started sucking on a paci to fall asleep at naptime. There are normally a few in her crib. I put her in her crib for just a minute, and I returned to find her with all three pacis! My funny girl.

Breaking News!

Carly has her first tooth - on her Mom's birthday!

Crawling Progress

We're making progress towards crawling.

Last Friday she learned to go from sitting to her belly.

Then on Saturday she started getting up on her knees. She tries really hard to get somewhere. She can actually get around decently well by lunging and rocking.

Carly's Baptism

Carly was baptized last Sunday (January 20) at Highland Park UMC here in Dallas. The baptism was during the service, so we don't have a ton of pictures. Here are a few family shots and other shots from the weekend. Thanks for coming everyone!

Reverend Mark Craig and us

The grandmothers, great grandmother, and mother.

Sorry Lintons - this is the only picture we had with your family!

Julianna and Alyssa kept Carly entertained.
It was great to have all the help cooking for the masses. I put everyone to work! Joannie cooked pretty much all of Saturday's dinner, and my mom and Meemaw helped cooked Sunday lunch . . .
while my Dad fed my little one. Julianna helped too.

Six Months Old!

I cannot believe that Carly is already 6 months old. Wow, time flies!!

Our little princess continues to be a happy girl. And a big girl! She had her 6 month checkup, and she now weighs 19 pounds, 5 ounces. The doctor kept saying "You're so big! And so happy!" That's my girl.

Over the last few weeks, she's learned a few new tricks. A couple of weeks ago, she started saying "ba". It was constant for a few days, but now she's not interested in saying 'ba' anymore. She has also started to make progress towards crawling. On Friday, she started going from sitting on her bottom to laying on her belly. On Saturday (her 6 month birthday!), she started getting on her hands and knees and rocking! I've heard babies stay at the rocking stage for a while, so we'll just have to wait and see when starts moving. She does move backwards some. Does that count?

We had Carly baptized this weekend. She loved all the company! Both sets of grandparents, plus great grandparents and an aunt and uncle were here. Pictures will be coming.

December Pics

A few more pictures from our December 2007 activities.

We bought Carly a highchair. What a wonderful invention! It is way better than feeding her in the Bumbo. She likes green slime (green beans) and orange slime (sweet potatoes) so far.

Amy and I took the girls to the Cotton Bowl parade on New Year's Eve. It was chilly and windy, but the girls survived. More importantly, Amy and I had fun!

Auntie MJ came to visit us in mid-December. We had a great time with her! Thanks for making time for us during your U.S. tour! The first two pictures below are from the Dallas Arboretum.

Carly learned a few new tricks over the holiday. First, she learned how to roll over to her belly. She now sleeps on her belly most nights. Fortunately, she also flips back to her back! She also gave up the swaddle habit. I was worried about the adjustment, but she did just fine.

I took this video before Christmas. She has since perfected her roll, and she rolls much faster now!

Carly's mobility makes her a little more dangerous. She has to be strapped in to bouncy seats, or she will roll and nearly fall out. Sneaky girl.

Carly also learned how to sit up! Woo-hoo! This trick is my favorite so far. She still tumbles over on occasion, but for the most part she can sit up for 10 or 15 minutes at a time.

Carly has also started making the crawling movements. She can sort of scoot on her belly to get to a toy. She's been working on getting up on her knees, but unfortunately this makes her go backwards! I'm afraid it will not be long before she's crawling all over the house. SCARY!!!
