Neiman Marcus Christmas Parade

Oh what a fun time! We went to the Neiman Marcus/Adolphus Christmas parade in downtown Dallas a week ago.

Carly L-O-V-E-D it. She kept staring at the balloons and floats and people, waving constantly. It was a blast and will hopefully become a family tradition.

Waving at something.

Frosty!

"Wow! Look at that one Mom!"

Santa!

Before the parade started (we were there early!), Carly had a great time running in the street!

Carly and the Sandbox

On Thanksgiving afternoon, Carly decided it would be fun to play in the dirt. She was having a great time digging in Grandma and Grandpa's fresh dirt.

She even spent some time swimming in the dirt.

Suddenly, the girls saw the sandbox. An innocent start . . .

But soon Carly was in the sandbox and having a great time.

Before too long, she was covered in sand. Those shoes are supposed to be pink, and the pants were brown.

Notice the sand all over her face?

It took a good scrubbing, including two rounds of shampooing the hair, to get most (not all) of the sand off, but it was worth it. She had the best time in that sandbox!

Thanksgiving 2008 in Marion

We headed to Marion for Thanksgiving this year. On Wednesday, Grandpa took us on a hayride. Carly had a great time.

Check out the beautiful skies. Its so serene out at the Mayer house. Well, until you had 8 adults and 7 kids.

After the hayride, Carly drove the tractor with Grandpa!

She grabbed the wheel and started steering.
She even tried to shift gears, just like Grandpa.

An assortment of other Thanksgiving weekend pictures. We had a great time in Marion.

Nannie and Pop November Visit

Nannie and Pop came for a visit in November. We always have a great time when they come!

Zonked out with Nannie

We took Carly to the park. She loves the swings there and does not want to leave!!

Our neighborhood park also has a huge wooden play structure. Carly loves it, but its hard to keep up with her in it. It is not meant for adults to crawl in it... but when your 1 year old is running away, sometimes you have to follow.

Some more swinging time at home. She still loves the swingset Daddy built for her.

Mini Hendrix Reunion

Time to catch up again . . .
Three weeks ago Carly and I traveled to OKC to visit my friend Erin and her baby boy Colin. Our friend Lisa and her kids Sol and Nora also came. It was fun to meet the new kiddos and see them interact, but it was even more fun to see my good friends from Hendrix. I miss you girls!

Colin (1), Sol (4), Nora (17 months), Carly (16 months)

We were there to celebrate Colin's big first birthday!

Sol helped Auntie Erin open gifts,

Nora and Lisa watched,

and Carly tested out all the new toys.

Animal Sounds

Carly's been practicing her animal impressions

I accidentally cut off the question in the second video. I asked her "What does the duck say?"

Apparently ducks don't quack. They duck duck duck.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

John's pumpkin handiwork. Good, huh? One trick-or-treaters dad thought they were ceramic pumpkins.

First, a stop by our neighborhood babysitter's house.
Then off to get Caleb.
Caleb? Where are you Caleb?
Our little ladybug.

We trick-or-treated with Caleb and his family. The cars were a perfect mode of transportation for the kids!
