Our 7th Niece is here!

Maddy is a big sister!

Robert and Julie had a little girl this afternoon. Riley Kate was born just before 4pm. She weighs 5 pounds, 10 ounces and is 19 1/4 inches long. Hopefully Robert will send me a picture soon!

Carly can roll over!

Carly has a new trick. She can roll over from her tummy to her back. She did it for the first time on Friday, September 14th.



Please excuse my annoying voice in the video, especially at the end. Guess the Mom voice kicked in fast.

2 Month Checkup

Carly had her 2 month checkup this morning. Here are her stats:

13 pounds, 7 ounces (95th percentile)
22 1/4 inches (40th percentile)

She's big!

Super Sleeper!!

Carly started sleeping 6 or 7 hours some nights when she was 5 weeks old. Around 6 weeks, she started sleeping that much every other night, and at 7 weeks she was doing it every night - with a few exceptions. Well, last night was a new record. She slept for 9 hours straight. Woo-hoo!!! She was quite happy when she woke up. Hopefully she liked it so much she'll do it again.

This picture is from a few days ago, but these are the kinds of smiles I get in the morning when she's slept well.

First Plane Ride and Trip to San Antonio

The weekend of September 7th was quite busy for us! We went to San Antonio for the weekend for John's grandfather's 95th birthday. We were supposed to drive, but we opted to fly when I found a great Southwest fare. Carly did great on each leg of the trip. She slept most of the way, and when she wasn't sleeping I had a pacifier in her mouth (as you can see in the picture below).

On Friday night, most of John's Dad's family came over to meet Miss Carly.

Saturday night was the big party for Opie. For those who don't know, John has a very large family. As in 130+ folks from his grandfather down the line through the spouses and grandchildren. Here are a few pics of the party.

Fikar visit

The Fikar family (Lynette, Jeff, and Abbi) came to visit us over Labor Day weekend. We had a great time with them! Abbi loved helping with diaper changes. She would get out a new diaper and throw the dirty one away. She got lots of practice for when her little brother or sister is here in February!

Erin and Patrick's visit

My college roommate Erin and her husband Patrick came from Oklahoma City to see us a few weekends ago. They're expecting in November. Carly looks forward to another playmate!
